MSW, LCSW

Sarah Hutchison

I have worked in adolescent mental health for almost fifteen years. Beginning in 2009, I worked intensively with families of adoptive children, both internationally and domestically. Through this experience, I developed a special interest in supporting families to develop safe attachments and heal from trauma.

In 2017, I joined a therapeutic program an instructor, family therapist and ultimately, a primary therapist supporting females, ages 14-18.  In the summer of 2022, after welcoming my 4th child into the world, I joined the Elevate team as a Parent and Family Coach.  Most recently, I developed and helped launch our Adoptive Mothers Wellness Weekend, offered twice annually.

My clinical style is compassionate, relational and direct. It is important to me that my clients experience feelings of safety in our relationship while also being challenged to grow and evolve. I draw from trauma-informed and attachment focused modalities; including internal family systems, somatic experiencing and the polyvagal theory. I also find fulfillment in helping families identify unprocessed grief while using wilderness and ceremony to heal.
